SHAPING FUTURE CHAMPIONS
Following the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, we believe in investing in children and giving them the opportunity to grow and develop physically and mentally through martial arts. We particularly focus on kids' MMA, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, Judo, Wrestling, Functional Training and the emotional maturity it helps children achieve through its practice.
We hold two classes a day for kids, all with coaches who have a great deal of experience training children, and in these sessions discipline and fun go hand-in-hand. For complete information on kids class timings, please see our official schedule.
WHY BRING YOUR KIDS TO TND?
If you want to instil your child with unshakable confidence whilst building good character and positive values, TND is the place to come. We are also the first academy to have a child World Champion in Dubai, and encourage competition for those that want it.
Training at our Academy will bring:
- Self-Discipline: a big problem in the modern era, and something we address with focussed and fun training classes that build patience, tolerance and restraint.
- Responsibility: Young people need to learn that engaging in something which is difficult to do and takes time is ultimately very important for their character.
- Respect: Children learn to respect their professors, their team-mates and also themselves.
- Finding peaceful solutions to problems: Kids that train have less inclination to become aggravated or enraged to as they do not feel the need to ‘prove’ themselves. This makes them calmer and more rational in their decision making.
- Self-Esteem and confidence: As the training hours build and progress increases, nothing makes our instructors happier than seeing how children change and start being more outgoing as their confidence grows.
- Setting goals (and acting on them): Learning that when you truly want something in life you have to work hard to get it.
- Family. Martial arts allow students to become comfortable with being in close physical contact in a society where we are becoming increasingly more isolated by technology. In combat sports we need our training partners and spend a significant part of our lives with them, which ultimately instills a sense of belonging. This positive influence is crucial to any youngster and their understanding of society. It builds camaraderie and shows young people that they are appreciated and important to one another and their team.
We currently offer four different martial arts disciplines for kids:
JUDO KIDS
Judo, founded by Dr Jigoro Kano, also an Olympic sport, is proven to be a holistic martial art that helps build a healthy body and a healthy mind for its practitioners. Learning to fall safely, training for mutual benefit, safety of your training partner during throws are just some of the elements that form the core of our judo training for young judokas.
Our approach isn’t that of one size fits all. Our young judokas, from 4 to 14 years of age, across all levels, train in an environment that is fun, friendly and yet challenges them to learn and perfect the techniques of Judo. Judo has been proven to help children develop their strength, coordination, reflexes, concentration, and above all, self-confidence, discipline and respect.
KID'S MMA
KID'S BJJ
BJJ prides itself on the usage of technique and leverage above everything, and one of its main benefits is that it allows a weaker person to subdue a larger one. As a result your child will learn to depend on neither size nor strength, but rather, how to defend themselves and control their opponent without trading punches or using finishing holds that might otherwise get them in to trouble at school or on the street. In other words, being able to nullify the potential of another person to inflict harm on them.
KID'S MUAY THAI
Muay Thai is a full body contact sport using fists, arms, elbows, legs, knees, shins and feet for both attack and defence. Almost all techniques in this martial art involve full body movement, applying rotation of the hips for increased leverage with each attack. It is a great form of self-defence.
Practicing Muay Thai, whether drilling or sparring, will allow your children to focus on themselves and nothing else. And this detachment from the stresses of the day helps them becoming a happier and more carefree individual.
